Where to Drink in January

Where to drink in... London

Patty & Bun

Burgers, burgers, burgers! Premium ingredients with no fuss. Exactly what they believe at Dominion brewery in Delaware, where they make the American sodas and root beer you can enjoy at Patty & Bun. Now serving the "World's Best Burgers" (The Telegraph, 2015) across three London locations, Patty & Bun is now firmly established as a must for burger lovers in London.

Jet Lag

With the biggest event in the American sporting calendar on the horizon it was inevitable that we'd be paying Jet Lag, London's elite sports bar, a visit this month to catch some of the NFL Playoff games.  If you can't make it down for the Superbowl or if American football is not for you, fear not, Jet Lag shows more sport than you could dream of, spread over two floors and shown across multiple big screens including a huge cinema screen. Add into this an International food menu that pairs wonderfully with the array of American craft beer they have in their fridges and you'll realise that Jet Lag has come up with a recipe for an astounding sports bar.

Wenlock & Essex

From comedy nights and craft beer to board games and brunch menus, the Wenlock and Essex has everything any discerning pub goer could ever desire. Kick back and relax with a bottle of Fordham Gypsy Lager in the warming surrounds of the pub or slip on through to the "mini club" for an experience you're not likely to forget.

Where to drink in... Brighton

The Western

Located slap bang in the middle of the city and conveniently positioned opposite the main shopping centre, The Western (formerly The Western Front until they got an uber cool makeover), is the ideal spot to seek tranquility whilst your partner goes shopping. Grab a seat in front of the log burner, admire the Eastern European decor and work your way through their Fordham multi bottle bucket deal whilst you await the return of a new knitted jumper.

Open House

With drop in weather temperature it's time to to add "open fire" to the requirements list for pubs to visit in January and at the Open House we found one.  A large pub with a local feel, the Open House, near Brighton's London Road train station, appeals to the young, the old, and everyone in between.  Don't be fooled into thinking we're only here for a winter drink in front of the fire, the pub also has of the biggest beer gardens in the city.

Where to drink in... Nottingham/Birmingham

Rub Smokehouse and Bar

It's not just BBQ food that Rub have nailed, they've also taken social media by storm with their #RubYourSelfie campaign, encouraging customers to share photos of themselves and their food all over the internet. The original Rub, based in Nottingham, boast their passion for Southern American barbecue style, knowledge of meat, secret spice rubs and "low n slow" cooking techniques in smokers Hank & Marvin. We like to boast about their exceptional taste in American craft beer, namely Fordham's Gypsy Lager. Bring friends, bring family, just make sure you come starvin'.
