Where to Drink in March

02/03/2018

Oh do we have a juicy 'Where to Drink' for you this month! We are thrilled to be working with the wonderful Sixpoint brewery now as their UK importer & distributor. So along with the delicious Tailgate, Saguatuck, Camerons, Fordham and Dominion range you are used to getting from us, we can now point you in the direction of even more great craft beer! We’ll be taking you all over the UK from London, to Brighton, up to Stroud, and finishing in Leeds!

First stop on the tour is Bodeans BBQ, which you can find all over London.

Bodeans BBQ:

Balham, Clapham, Fulham, Soho, Old Street, Tower Hill, Covent Garden, Muswell Hill

www.bodeansbbq.com

"We don't mind if you've been naught or nice, so long as you're hungry!  #Bodeans#London#Meat#BBQ#FoodPorn"

In 2002, the Bodeans founder Andre Blais decided it was about time the style and soul of Kansas BBQ was in the UK. He's made that happen and clearly succeeded because there are Bodean's BBQ joints all over London now, and they've won the accolade of the 'best ribs this side of the Atlantic' by Time Out magazine.

What better to pair with great BBQ than some equally delicious US Craft Beer from our friends over at Sixpoint! Ever ahead of the curve, Bodeans are one of the first establishments in the UK to take on the Sixpoint range and are currently stocking The Crisp, Sweet Action, Bengali and Resin all in the iconic Sixpoint Nanokegs. We thoroughly recomend treating your taste buds with a trip to one of Bodeans' venues and experience the combination of Kansas BBQ and Sixpoint's Mad Science - take a look at this blog for a full rundown of the method to their Mad Science.

Bison Beer:

7 East Street, Brghton, BN1 1HP

  • "Beer of the week @tailgatebeerPeanut Butter Milk Stout £1.95 😎🐃"

Based only a stones throw from Brighton Beach, Bison Beer are an independent craft house stocking a wide range of beers from all over the world! Including all of the Tailgate goodness: Peanut Butter Milk Stout, Grapefruit IPA, Watermelon Wheat, as well as Saugatuck's Singapore IPA, Blueberry Maple Stout, and Neapolitan Milk Stout. They have a lot of love for the Tailgate range and have recently offered the Peanut Butter Milk Stout as their 'Beer of the Week'... it completely sold out within 3 days. But don't fret, stocks have been replenished! So head down to Bison Beer and treat yourself to something from their impressive range.

And why not take it home in the unique Bison Beer Growlers! Growlers come from the US and are large amber glass bottles, that can hold 1.9 litres of beer (the perfect amount for a weekend's drinking). They use a state-of-the-art counter-pressure filling system which ensures no loss of carbonation for up to 6 weeks!

The Diner Spitalfields:

Spitalfields Market, 4 Horner Square, London E1 6EW

"What are your lunch plans this Monday? #nofilter#phillycheese #meat #steak#mondayblues"

We're keeping the food American in this month's 'Where to Drink'. Next stop, The Diner Spitalfields. These guys are loving the Sixpoint range, and have installed Sweet Action on draft as well as stocking the rest of the gang in cans after the UK release at Craft Beer Rising last week. If you follow us on social you'll know we were having a lot of fun at CBR, and if you dont... well i'll just leave these here: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn. But even veteran craft beer aficionados need a respite from the non-stop frivolity of CBR, and when that time came we headed over to The Diner to line the stomachs!

We actually headed back to The Diner the next morning as well to try out their breakfast menu, and as much as I'd have loved a can of Resin to get the day started, it was 8am so I ended up opting for coffee. Whether it's beer or coffee you're after, The Diner serve delicious food and boast an equally impressive drinks menu, try it out to transport your palate to the U.S.A.

So stepping away from the hustle and bustle of city life, we are heading to the calm quiet of the costwolds. Stroud in particular, where you can find The Bear of Rodborough. Although rural, The Bear of Rodborough is far from grizzly, nestled within beautiful National Trust lands of Gloucestershire it's the ideal location for some rest and relaxation!

And they certainly know how to relax, with three of Tailgate's finest (Peanut Butter Milk Stout, Grapefruit IPA and Watermelon Wheat) in stock as well the Blueberry Maple Stout from Saugatuck. The Bear of Rodborough is a part of a larger group of hotels called the Costwold Inns and Hotels, all of which appreciate a good beer. You can find the above range at any of their locations.

"Happy stout day!! Try our Neapolitan milk stout brand new on keg. #stoutday #neapolitanmilkstout"

If you've read previous editions of 'Where to Drink', then you'll know we love our Head of Steam venues, but why shouldn't we when they stock great beer? So we're covering another brilliant one today, the Head of Steam Leeds! Since opening in the heart of Leeds city centre in 2014, Head of Steam Leeds has undergone some serious refurbishment and is commonly described as "lovely boozer", "fabulous pub" and "bags of character". With live music and a great menu to pair with your beer it's the ideal recipe for a memorable night in Leeds.

And as much as we love them, they seem to love us too, stocking a whole range of Heathwick craft beer goodness. Head to Head of Steam Leeds to wet your whistle with a pint of Motorhead's Road Crew, Tontine Milk Stout, Neapolitan Milk Stout, Cherry Blossom Lager, Blueberry Maple Stout, and of course the Tailgate trio; Peanut Butter Milk Stout, Grapefruit IPA, Watermelon Wheat.
