The world is developing, developing a sweet tooth for beer! Recognising this we set sail for Michigan to see what our friends at Saugatuck had up their sleeves to access this change in the market, and we weren't disappointed with the result. The Neapolitan Milk Stout has become a firm favourite amongst dessert beers in the UK market, but as InAPub reported, it doesn't just have to be enjoyed as a stand alone beer.
In their article titled “8 of the world's weirdest ways to drink beer” (published Jan 2016), Inapub list the Neapolitan Milk Stout as a top pick by drinking it in a cocktail, a technique used by a number of cocktail bars we work with, most swapping the coffee in an Espresso Martini for the arousing flavours of Neapolitan Milk Stout. As Inapub rightly put it, Neapolitan Milk Stout “genuinely tastes like the ice-cream of your childhood” making it the perfect beer to add some variation to your next martini.

It’s not only the written press that have been taken with the complexity of Neapolitan Milk Stout, respected podcast the Beer O’Clock Show reviewed it as “a lovely dessert beer”, with all members agreeing that they would be happy to exchange their after dinner pudding for Neapolitan Milk Stout, immersing themselves in the experience so much so that they felt they were “actually drinking ice cream”.
Don’t just take our word for it, listen to the entire show for yourself via the Beer O’Clock website.
