Where to Drink in July

02/07/2018

July has arrived and brought with it the glorious British Summer… everyone knows they last about 4 days so make sure you get yourself out in a beer garden ASAP! But before you start burning in the sun, have a read of the best places to grab some quality brews this July.

This Where to Drink is a particularly juicy one because we are thrilled to be rolling out 3 brand new Sixpoint beers that have before found their way across the pond to the UK. First off we’ve got Alpenflo - a classic German Helles Lager ideal for a summer beer garden and available year-round @ 4.9% ABV. Next up we have Barrel-Aged Righteous Ale - A rye and bourbon barrel-aged rye ale @ 10.5%, and last but by no means least Jammer a lightly tart, super refreshing gose @ 4%.

The Euston Tap, London

www.eustontap.com

I’m sure many of you are familiar with The Euston Tap as we’ve covered it before in our Where to Drink. And more importantly; its an incredible pub so being the beer loving folk you are you’ve probably checked it out. With an ever-growing list of Keg and Cask beers there will always be plenty of new beers to expand your palate with! Particularly this month because Euston Tap will be hosting an Independence Day Beer festival from July 4th - July 6th and bringing 2 of the amazing new Sixpoint beers with them; the awesome helles lager Alpenflo, and the incredibly refreshing gose Jammer.

If you’ve not been to The Euston Tap before, the clue is in the name; it’s a taproom located right next to Euston Station with a beer selection that’s definitely worth missing a train or two to sample! It is jam-packed with character, has a great atmosphere and really feels like a ‘proper pub’... I know that sounds strange but it is notoriously difficult to get that feeling at London Station pubs.

The New Club, Brighton

www.thenewclubbrighton.com

High ceilings, huge windows, stunning views of West Pier, and banging basement parties, Brooklyn-inspired The New Club has it all! It all started with an old dining cart in New York that superseded the expectations of a group of friends. The style and 5-star comfort food epitomized everything that they wanted to bring to Brighton; and when the ideal spot opened up on Kings Road, the dream became a reality.

In keeping with their quality American food, they’ve got some equally amazing American beer! They stock the fan favourite Route 1 from the Fordham Brewing, and have recently taken on the refreshing notes of Sixpoint’s Sweet Action; perfect to pair with their Dirty Burger as you look out across the stunning views of Brighton seafront.

Crafty Fellas, London Leadenhall Market

www.craftyfellas.co.uk

Fellas, it’s time to get crafty! I’m guessing the guys at Crafty Fellas will agree with me with their amazing, ever-expanding selection of incredible craft beer. Located in the beautiful Beehive Passage in Leadenhall Market, the guys at Crafty Fellas recognised that for some reason the financial hub of the city had been neglected when it comes to craft beer, and nobody deserves that! So they rectified it, opening their doors in July of 2017 as the first and only purveyor of craft drinks.

And since then they’ve been crushing it! Heavily rotational and always bringing innovative beers and fresh flavours it’s undoubtedly worth several visits! And like Euston Tap, Crafty Fellas are hosting an American Independence Day beer festival from 2nd July to the 6th where they’ll have all the brand new Sixpoint beers (Alpenflo, Jammer and Righteous Ale) as well as Sixpoint’s Bengali, Saugatuck’s Neapolitan Milk Stout, Tailgate’s Peanut Butter Milk Stout and Fordham’s 11th Sour… aka a whole lot of awesome beer!

The Porterhouse, London Covent Garden

www.theporterhouse.ie

Beautiful decor, amazing location and incredible beer selection; The Porterhouse is the epitome of what London drinking should be. Located in the famous Covent Garden is the ideal haunt for those hot summer days we are lucky enough to be blessed with at the moment, cool off with a refreshing beer from their impressive range. Considering the size of the place you’d think it would feel sparse at times, but there’s always a buzzing atmosphere with plenty of nooks and crannies for to give it that cosy, intimate feel if that’s the evening you’d prefer!

You might start to notice a theme here, because they too are hosting an Independence day beer festival with a number of Sixpoint’s finest on offer. From the 4th of July they’ll have Sixpoint’s Bengali, Alpenflo and Sweet Action on keg as well as Tailgate’s Peanut Butter Milk Stout! So get yourself down there sharpish for some quality brews and a celebration of independence!
