Heathwick Trade Sales Manager Job Description

Position: Trade Sales Manager

Location: London/M4 corridor

Salary: OTE £40,000 & benefits

Role Overview:

To drive brand sales and visibility within the on-trade/off-trade via an established wholesaler network.  Develop new routes to market across wholesale, retail and on trade multiple operators.

To implement and manage key sales plans, campaigns and events across relevant outlets in the range of market sectors.

Identify logistics opportunities for brand import and export revenue.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Increase brand distribution and visibility, whilst achieving volume and quality objectives set by the General Sales Manager across designated territory and accounts.
  • In collaboration with the marketing department implement initiatives related to brand plans, campaigns and other key events.
  • Sell the brand propositions to territory and account decision-makers with enthusiasm and
    conviction and ensure alignment with outlet type and brand positioning.
  • Identify appropriate outlets for marketing activity and deliver brilliant execution of promotional campaigns, and consumer trial to maximise rate of sale in outlet.
  • Implement merchandising plans and technical services. Ensure installation services are completed and maintained to the customer’s satisfaction.
  • Represent the brands at trade and consumer events. Present, develop and deliver on-trade/off-trade training programmes.
  • Provide market intelligence and competitor feedback. Carry out new product research as required.
  • Develop brand social media presence in tandem with appropriate marketing strategy.


  • 3 years sales experience in FMCG or services industry.
  • Knowledge of the beer, wine and spirits market (not essential).
  • Understanding of the UK on trade market, wholesale distribution and retail market.
  • Ability to work with all social media tools.

About Heathwick:

Heathwick is a privately owned London based company specialising in freight import and export movement across the world, focusing on fast moving consumer goods in the UK and US. Since November 2010, Heathwick has acted as the sole importer, distributor and UK marketing arm for Fordham and Old Dominion Brewing Company and has been the driving force in growing the brand and product range from launch to being available in 1200+ on-trade/retail outlets across the UK. As part of the brand representation in the UK, Heathwick oversee all the UK based websites, social media, PR, events and promotional campaigns (trade and consumer) and sales activity for on-trade and retail.

In 2013 Heathwick began importing wines from the boutique US winery Point of the Bluff, based in the Finger Lakes region of New York. With their first harvest in 2011, the range is already winning awards, as is their Ice Wine released in 2014.

The Heathwick portfolio saw further expansion in 2014 through trading agreements and the addition of products from the Tailgate brewery, based in Nashville, Tenessee and the Saugatuck brewery based in Saugatuck on the east coast of Lake Michigan.  In 2016 Heathwick made the addition of Burleigh’s Gin to the portfolio acting as the UK distributor for the Leicester based distillery brand. In 2017 Heathwick also began acting in a distribution capacity for the UK brewery Cameron’s regarding their own brand produced beers Road Crew (a beer brewed in collaboration with the band Motorhead) and Tontine, a Nitro Milk Stout.

In 2018 Heathwick was appointed as the UK importer and distributor for the highly successful Sixpoint brewery based in Brooklyn, New York. Sixpoint is one of three top selling craft beers in the New York Metro region.  

Most recently Heathwick has agreed trading terms with a US company, Amoretti, in order to act as the UK and European distributor for their range of fruit puree products which have been developed specifically to be used during beer/cider production but also at consumer point of purchase in the on-trade by mixing with draught products.
