Autumn Beers

05/10/2015

When that noticeable chill hits the late Summer weather, we start yearning for those lovely Autumnal beers; the amber ales, APAs and IPAs.

It's time to make sure your bar menu has some nice seasonal Autumn beers on! Here are some great Autumn beers that we recommend:

Fordham Copperhead Amber Ale

Amber ales tend to beautifully balanced ales, focusing on the malt in the beer and varying in hop character. Fordham Copperhead Ale is famous for its signature balanced flavour and impeccable smoothness. This amber ale blends caramelised malted barley with pronounced hop character to create a delicate copper hue. Brewed in the style of a German altbier. Buy online here

Saugatuck ESB Amber

This American ESB Amber from Saugatuck is brewed in the style of the traditional British Extra Special Bitter, with an even balance of nine different malts giving a slightly nutty flavour with a hint of liquorice and toffee. Malts are matched perfectly with a hint of smooth Goldings, Tettnang, Williamette hops. Buy online here

Dominion Hop Mountain APA

APAs are refreshing and hoppy pale ales, yet with sufficient supporting malt. Dominion Hop Mountain is a USBTC Grand Champion American Pale Ale brewed with Nelson-Sauvin, Cascade and Crystal hops. A rich Pale Ale with a strong hop character, medium body and dry citrus finish, along with floral hop aromas. An incredible beer that featured in InApub's 15 top American beers and cited as "an American brew that all beer fans should try at least once." Buy online here

Saugatuck Backyard IPA

Saugatuck's Backyard IPA is a light-bodied with a hoppy burst of flavor. This 4.5% ABV Session IPA is a refreshing, easy drinking IPA, perfect for those who are not into really hoppy IPAs but want something more. Great tasting beer!

Fordham Route One IPA

Brewed specifically for those looking for a classic American IPA, Fordham Route 1 is a sessionable IPA without the high alcohol content. This beer is golden in colour, possessing a subtle malt presence and grapefruit and pine aromas. Buy online here

And last but not least...

Fordham Spiced Harvest Pumpkin Ale

Before Halloween hits it's worth getting in some Pumpkin Ale for that sweet, warming and spicy ale for the ultimate Autumn beer! Fordham Spiced Harvest 6.5% ABV and not your run of the mill ale. A smooth, caramel, malty sweetness, boosted by a few fresh homegrown pumpkins and then honey added into the boil, is balanced against the pumpkin pie spice flavours - clove, cinnamon, all-spice and real ginger.
