The rumours are true. Legendary rock band Motörhead has collaborated with Camerons Brewery in England’s north east to create a rollicking good American Pale Ale.
The beer is called Road Crew - named after Motörhead fans' favourite ‘(We Are) The Road Crew’, which appears on the 1980s ‘Ace of Spades’ album.
Lemmy wrote “(We are) the Road Crew” as a tribute to his crew about his time as a roadie for Jimi Hendrix. He took 10 minutes to write this anthem whilst in a North London studio toilet and in his own immortal words “It was the only quiet place in the building. I had an idea and I needed somewhere to work it through. That is the only song I can remember writing in the toilet."
Mmm. Nice to know.
The Beer

The beer itself, is not just to be sniffed at - packed full of hoppy citrus, tangerine and blackcurrant flavours it delivers a crisp, refreshing taste and golden pour. Available in kegs, cask and bottle, the taste and story behind this beer is having a big affect. Since its launch at the Porterhouse in London at the end of January, the impact on social media alone has been phenomenal for a new beer. So we're anticipating a very enjoyable surge in sales for all our on-trade and off-trade partners choosing to stock Road Crew.
Keg and Cask are 4.5% abv, whilst the bottles pack a little more punch at 5% abv.

Road Crew makes a very sessionable drinking beer, however, if you enjoy the art of pairing your beers with food, it works fantastically well with spicy Cajun style dishes. It's also great with a plate of chilli covered nachos.

Music vs Beer
Why the versus? It should be 'Music & Beer'. Nothing beats drinking great beer whilst listening to some mind blowing riffs. And, if you wanted a reminder of just how awesome Motörhead riffs are, here's a little instrumental rendition of Road Crew on You Tube:

Just remember not to throw your head around and sup simultaneously.
Road Crew Lyrics (just in case you want to sing along!)
Another town, another place
Another girl, another face
Another truck, another race
I'm eating junk, feeling bad
Another night, I'm going mad
My woman's leaving, I feel sad
But I just love the life I lead
Another beer is what I need
Another gig, my ears bleed
We are the road crew
Another town I've left behind
Another drink, completely blind
Another hotel I can't find
Another backstage pass for you
Another tube of superglue
Another border to get through
I'm driving like a maniac
Driving my way to hell and back
Another room, a case to pack
We are the road crew
Another hotel we can burn
Another screw, another turn
Another Europe map to learn
Another truck stop on the way
Another game I learn to play
Another word I learn to say
Another bloody customs post
Another fxxxing foreign coast
Another set of scars to boast
We are the road crew
