Where to Drink in April

29/03/2018

Hello, and welcome to the latest installment of Where to Drink, giving you the best places to wet your whistle this April. The Beast from the East has moved on, the snow has melted and it is safe to leave your home. But where to go with your new found freedom? We recommend the pub! And what an array of pubs, bars and brews we have for you. Time to sing in Spring properly.

The Patron - Manchester

www.thepatronnq.co.uk

Located in the Northern Quarter of Manchester, The Patron is an art and live music bar that boasts some of Manchester’s finest eats, bespoke cocktails and of course, an impressive selection of craft beer!

The people of The Patron are deeply proud of their customer service, quality of food, and fine drinks selection. This passion clearly shines through to their customers who have nothing but praise for the establishment, which they spread across web (the reviews speak for themselves!). Having recently expanded their drinks portfolio to include Sixpoint’s Sweet Action and Fordham’s Route 1 on keg, I know exactly where I’ll be stopping for a roast and a pint next time i'm in Manchester.

Dirty Bones - All locations

www.dirty-bones.com

From the clean crisp decor of the The Patron, to the basement parties of Brooklyn-inspired Dirty Bones! The Dirty Bones concept was to bring New York inspired food and drink to London. Born out of two friends experiencing the joys of eating, drinking and living life in New York; when the ideal basement location opened up off High Street Kensington that concept became a reality.

Dirty Bones Kensington went down so well it was clear that more people needed to experience it. So Dirty Bones rolled out more venues and can now be found in, Soho, Shoreditch, Carnaby, Oxford and the flagship Kensington of course! Although the cocktails are amazing, they’ve got a pretty impressive selection of craft beer too. And have recently taken on the crisp, refreshing goodness of  Fordham’s Gypsy Lager.

BarleyHops Beer Cafe - Congleton

www.barleyhops.co.uk

BarleyHops came about when a couple from Macclesfield decided they wanted to get local ales, produced through micro-brewing into the hands of the real ale drinkers of the UK. Initially they were providing ales to their local area in 2011, but by July 2012 the courier service was UK-wide! This success spurred them on to open their own ‘little shop’ as they call it in Congleton, and the BarleyHops Beer Cafe opened its doors in November of 2014.

BarleyHops passion for beer is undeniable, and as they say “We’re not trying to reinvent the wheel so to speak, we love and are passionate about real ale; beer with flavour, depth and made the right way by brewers with vision.” and they now boast a selection of over 300 real ales! A part of this generous selection is the delicious Peanut Butter Milk Stout from Tailgate.

Euston Tap - London

www.eustontap.com

Housed in an old station lodge building, Euston Tap is a charming and intimate tap room absolutely packed with character! It's notoriously difficult to make a pub near a station in London feel like a ‘proper pub’ but it certainly works here. An obscene range of beer from every corner of the world, served by friendly knowledgeable staff in a beautiful setting, Euston Tap is an absolute must visit! Definitely worth missing the 18.46 from Euston for a few extra pints!

Recent additions to their fine selection of brews are Sixpoint’s The Crisp and Sweet Action on draught, and Saugatuck’s Neapolitan Milk Stout bottled and Blueberry Maple Stout on draught!
