The Fordham Brewery remains dedicated to the craft with roots running deep across the Mid-Atlantic region. Handcrafting fine ales and lagers is second nature to these brewers and so we have been waiting with anticipation on the release of three unique craft beers.

The rumours are true.  Legendary rock band Motörhead has collaborated with Camerons Brewery in England’s north east to create a rollicking good American Pale Ale. The beer is called Road Crew - named after Motörhead fans' favourite ‘(We Are) The Road Crew’, which appears on the 1980s ‘Ace of Spades’ album.

It’s with great pleasure that we announce Wingtip Brewery’s The Captain craft pilsner and Tailgate’s Watermelon Wheat are now available in 330ml cans. The popularity of canned craft beer has taken off over the past few years and is now being recognised as the preferred vessel for craft beer.

The sun is starting to shine, St Patricks day is around the corner and Easter weekend landing at the end of the month. March definitely signals the beginning of Spring and with it, the search for beer gardens to while away the afternoons. This month we reviewed venues in Eton, Bray, Bournemouth, Brighton & Eastbourne.  

Twice as big as last year, Craft Beer Rising is back at The Old Truman Brewery in Brick Lane with over 600 beers and ciders to try from over 150 UK and International Breweries. As always, we're really excited to be part of it and talk to people who love their beer! Bodeans will be sharing their Oak Barrel Stout BBQ sauce with us for sampling... we can almost smell the burgers!  

Pancake Day is a great day all round. In 2015, Andy Hamilton made it even more interesting when he tried different craft beers in his pancake batter to discover 'Which beer makes the best batter?' As a pancake fan and brewer, who better to conduct this research?! But in 2016, Saugatuck upped the stakes by making Maple Blueberry Stout Pancakes to celebrate Americas National Blueberry pancake day.

Dominion Oak Barrel Stout lends itself so well to many recipes but this one, originally created by Vicky Bradford, is one of our favourites. It's beautifully balanced; rich and chocolatey but without being too sweet. The flavour of the stout is present in a subtle way but it's not overpowering.

In January we tend to reflect on the past year and think about what's in store the coming year. It's been an interesting 12 months for the craft beer industry and here are 5 trends we think you'll see in the next 12.

We are big believers in Tryanuary. It isn't about drinking more, it's about trying something different, tasting something new and experiencing something interesting. Here are our top 5 recommendations for interesting beers you may not have tried before, all from independent breweries and available in the UK.

Having spent the festive season being jolly, January is the time to embark on something new. Whether it be experimenting with soft drinks for Dry January or trying something new for Tryanuary, there is plenty for us to experience beverage wise at the start of 2016.  

We knew it was something special when we first tried it in 2013 but we were still overwhelmed by how much so many people in UK loved this stout - we followed some press and tweets which you can view here - and so we made sure there were plenty of bottles around over the last 12 months. 

O’so Brewing was established in 1997 by two childhood sweethearts from Wisconsin. Katina and Marc are a real life love story but more importantly, so is their love for beer! With two new beers now available in the UK, Hop Whoopin' American IPA and Night Porter, you can join O'so Brewing's fight against boring beer.

To help the locals of Brighton & Hove celebrate Thanksgiving last weekend, we put on a beer sampling event at Wine Barrel. With a huge range of American and Mexican beers, everyone had the chance to try plenty of new craft brews. The beers went down a storm, Andy held the crowd well, as always, and everyone had a favourite new beer by the end of the evening!

We're very proud, but not surprised, to announce that Saugatuck Brewery, Michigan have performed very well at the Brussels Beer Challenge. Their ESB Amber Ale - available in bottle and keg in the UK - achieved gold!

Fordham Spiced Harvest Ale is a pumpkin ale. which is very popular in America during the fall season. It's an easy to drink, warming, spicy ale that doesn't want rushing. Not because of the 6.5% ABV but because it's not your run of the mill ale.

Dominion Octoberfest is a smooth, medium bodied brew with notes of grain, bready malt, caramel and a subtle grassy hop character with a crisp bitterness that makes this classic style of lager a perfect Autumn beer.

Heathwick have heard the word on street is Mexican Craft Beers are in demand and experiencing an exciting revolution of their own. So we went out and sourced some of the best microbreweries in Mexico and tried some incredible beers. 

Tailgate Brewery have created two experimental brews that we just knew would go down a storm in the UK. Their Grapefruit IPA and Peanut Butter Milk Stout are available in the UK in selected outlets from September 2015 in keg only. 

The Heathwick Craft Beer Experience is about having fun with beer - and part of that is about beer and food matching, beer cocktail and cooking with beer. Craft beers lend themselves to cooking and baking so well due to their complex flavour profiles. Here are a selection of some of our favourites: a mixture of our own recipes, the breweries' and the drinking publics! 

The root beer float is the quintessential summer treat. A classic American drink and such a simple combination like peanut butter and jelly or strawberries and ice cream - depending which side of the pond you're on.  

What is a Farmhouse Ale / Saison? Farmhouse Ales or Saisons (French for ‘season’) originated in Wallonia, a French speaking part of Belgium, in the 19th century. They traditionally brewed in the winter before the hard labour started and stored until the summer months when they were given to farmworkers for refreshment. By brewing in the winter, the farm workers were given work to do in what was otherwise a quiet period.

Dominion Root Beer grew out of original authentic American recipes found at the Library of Congress and has been perfected through many test batches sampled by friends of the brewery. Dominion Root Beer has captured an old-fashioned taste that is full-bodied, rich tasting and aromatic.

Beach House Pilsner is a summer seasonal beer brewed by the Fordham & Dominion brewery in Dover, Delaware, US. Their beers are about drinkability and quality and bridging the gap between bland mainstream lagers and the more adventurous side of the American craft beer industry. Pilsner takes it name from the city it came from; Pizen (or Pilsner) in the Western Czech republic that was part of the Bohemian Kingdom.

This May will see the launch of Fordham’s new wheat beer, Sunseeker, in the UK: an unfiltered, American Pale Wheat Ale style beer brewed in Delaware, USA. Available in bottles and on draft. Sunseeker: One who envisions a life filled with sunshine, good beer, and marvellous times. With hints of clove and banana bread this unfiltered wheat ale is the perfect Sunseeker’s sidekick…even when the sun goes down.  

You don’t need a high ABV to have fun when drinking, as these hand-crafted non-alcoholic sodas will show you. Delivering all the colours, aromas and flavours of your favourite childhood sweetshop, Dominion’s Root Beer, Black Cherry and Creamy Orange are made with natural cane sugar (honey for the Root Beer). Try these recipe ideas and add some fun to the menu...

Cherry Blossom Lager is Dominion's Spring seasonal beer and has been causing a storm in the UK year on year. Brewed with Munich, Carafoam and Vienna malts and Perle and Tradition hops, the lager is then conditioned on 300 pounds of Michigan cherries for 48 hours. Michigan cherries are not the sweet kind, they're the tart kind. And this is why the resulting lager tastes like a effervescent, blushing and tart beer, resembling a pink champagne.

Beer cocktails are nothing new. Beer has been used as a cocktail ingredient for many many years. The 'Flip' - a heated mix of beer, rum and sugar that was drunk around the1690s and the 'Boilermaker' - a beer and whisky chaser drank by metal craftsmen working on North American steam locomotives.   Here are some of our favourites (with a free download)
